Aquém do Top 3 ficou a revolucionária obra de Arthur Penn, Bonnie and Clyde. Após o lançamento deste filme, o cinema nunca mais foi o mesmo. Aqui podem ler os meus breves pensamentos sobre o fantástico filme que retrata um dos mais emblemáticos casais de ladrões da história americana.

Bonnie and Clyde is a true landmark in Cinema's history, making deep impact changes on the way films were made in North America. Opening the gates of violence to mainstream crowds, it is possible to say that many other films would not be what they are today, if it weren't for Arthur Penn's Bonnie and Clyde. (The Godfather, I'm looking at you. eheh).
What can I possibly say about this film? Well, it has an extremely strong and effective direction, the performances are fantastic all across the board, the cinematography captures the essence of Southern and Midwest America, and the editing makes the movie flow seamlessly.
My biggest qualm towards it would be the soundtrack. I do feel that some scenes would benefit with the absence of a music score, enhancing their impact. When I'm watching the movie, and specifically in a couple of scenes that have a score in the background, the image of a hillbilly playing banjo with his feet immediately springs to my mind which, may I add, is not exactly the nicest mental image one can have. ahah.
However, and taking into account the era that the movie depicts, the soundtrack captures and reflects the culture of those specific areas in the US. So, by staying in line with the themes explored in the film I can't help to not stay mad at it.

Vi-o semanas atrás na RTP 2, e gostei bastante. E aquele final é só um dos melhores de sempre !
